Strategy and packaging design for a renowned luxury brand that seeks to transform our perception of sustainability by offering something equally desirable.
Sustainability in fashion is often framed as a duty rather than a desire. While the women of today are socially aware & care about ethical choices, they don’t wish to compensate on fashion.
Hence, the approach was to make a packaging for the brand Stella Mccartney that does above protecting the product, it protects and celebrates the universe, its connection and intentions. A box that unfolds the magic of universe at your feet for making a kind yet stylish choice.
The fashion industry’s packaging use makes up 26% of global plastic waste. Especially luxury bags, a key revenue driver; remain far from sustainable. Layers of tracing paper, tissues, dust bags, the shopping bag and oversized rigid boxes are sold to millions daily, rarely reused and mostly discarded and/or stacked. The aim is to create reduced packaging that helps Stella McCartney make its message clearer in the industry, starting with the iconic Falabella.

The brand’s potential audience shares a deeper bond with animals. Sparks of Life was conceived as a kind yet aspirational channel - building a cohesive spirit that reminds us that we all belong to the same universe, while inspiring a deeper awareness of our shared existence.

The designed packaging unfolds in three parts - a bronze satin shopping bag of recycled plastic that doubles as a dustbsg; a mycelium-grown box bottom with a raw cosmic texture with detachable recycled-card walls for modularity and easy disposal; along with metallic lid, crowned by the sphere. Set on a curved base, the sphere evokes cosmic balance and invites touch.
While biodegradable components are designed to return to the earth, the lid remains as a sculptural keepsake, embodying Stella McCartney’s ethos of mindful luxury.

This project is a call to action - a reminder that luxury doesn’t have to cost the earth. It’s about creating beauty with integrity, functionality with purpose, and packaging that is as thoughtful as the products it holds. Together, we’re proving that sustainability isn’t a limitation; it’s a design opportunity.
